Poké Ball Idea: Homing Ball
Here’s an idea I came up with for a new type of Poké Ball — the Homing Ball.
What it does:
When you throw it, instead of relying on your aim, it automatically follows and locks onto the nearest Pokémon. It’s designed to make catching easier, especially for fast or flying Pokémon.
- The catch rate is the same as a regular Poké Ball.
- It’s not perfect — there’s a chance it could follow the wrong target, especially if multiple wild Pokémon are nearby.
In Pokémon GO:
This could work well for players who have trouble aiming or just want a quicker catch method. It might be especially useful in AR mode.
Balance ideas:
- Might not work on ghost-types or teleporting Pokémon.
- Could have a short delay before launching.
- Doesn’t improve catch rates, just improves accuracy.
Why I think it fits:
It feels like something Silph Co. or another in-universe tech company could make. It helps with tricky catches but doesn’t guarantee success.
Would like to hear what others think. Too helpful? Too random? Let me know your thoughts.
