Getting tired of people always assuming scalpers will snap up all product of upcoming sets...

Options

I watched the reveal trailer for the upcoming Mega Evolution set, and am really looking forward to it.

Then I looked below and saw most of the comments were about people complaining that scalpers will probably take all the product for themselves.

I honestly don't get why people are so worried about this, considering that Pokemon is probably going to print a ton of product for this. People were saying the same stuff about Journey Together and Destined Rivals, but the scalpers dropped those sets after it turned out Pokemon produced a ton of them.

Scalpers did not drop those sets; the demand still exceeds the supply:

Journey together booster boxes are still $200+ on TCGPlayer and Amazon.
For Destined rivals you're looking at around $250 for a booster box.

Getting tired of an assumption is a waste. Also, it’s not an assumption, when it’s absolutely going to happen. What you should be tired of is scalpers, those paying the prices they set, and the manufacturer being impotent about the practice ruining the offline game for the majority of customers.

I’m not assuming anything. But scalpers snap up product of new releases, and set ridiculous prices way above RRP, which is then paid by the desperate. And little has been done to prevent this that’s been effectual, by both the manufacturer and distributor.

It’s assumption up until it happens again. Then it is, again, reality. Be annoyed at me all you like OP. But your annoyance is not really optimism, is it?
