I don't think there'll be a classic collection but there is a chance we get them on the NSO thing since there are other Pokémon games there.

There's also the 30th anniversary next year, where they might decide to do something.

i hate to be the conspiracy theorist but having old games is kind of good. And there is people like my friend that could stop liking the series about collecting.

Personally I already own all of the games and hardware, so it doesn't really affect me.

But I would love others to be able to experience the older games in some form, be it a collection release (likely individual e-shop releases, let's be honest) or NSO. If they offered reasonable improvements and didn't ruin it by slapping an exp. share on the games or something equally stupid, I might even pick them up myself.

Unfortunately my suspicion has long been that they will hold those games until such time as there is a lull in sales and interest (which doesn't look likely in the near future given SV's performance) or some big controversy from which they need to distract everyone. (Much more likely scenario.)

There have been "Collection" titles released in the past so if Pokémon were to do it would not be surprising. It's not like the old games take up a ton of space either so they could feasibly release the first 7 Generations(aka the non-Switch titles) for the 30th Anniversary next year.
