Pokeballs

Hi, so I'm replaying Gen 2 on my 3ds virtual console at the moment and was working through the challenges on the Pokémon Home phone app and a few of them are about pokeballs added in said gen 2 and just transferred some from the games to bank then to home and see that there pokeballs reverted from what they were caught in into the regular pokeball will this be the same if I play Heart Gold or Soul Silver or any of the ds or 3ds games
