Ranked Ladder
When the ladder resets every 4 weeks or so it seems like it cuts your rank in half. Is this correct, because it seems that I just dropped back half the amount of points I accumulated.

Went from 1740 to 860, which is veeeeery close to half (it is half if you round down to the next multiple of 20). You may be correct, and if you are, half seems a little excessive once you hit master ball.

It sounds like there is some sort of equation in it though, because I’ve always dropped down from Arceus League to 2040, one step up from the bottom of Master League. It’s done the same thing the last three ladders

Maybe the "half your rank" is only for ultra ball? last season i went from 1460 to 720, this season i went from 1740 to 860, both are half my rank, round down to the next multiple of 20.
Or maybe i just stopped at really specific points and it was just a coincidence.

Why is this mechanic even in place? It seems rather spiteful frankly. I'd see being rest to the beginning of the "league" rank maybe, but bumping down half the points just feels like a grind fest and makes it sort of pointless to even work at.
