Set rotation, it's what every TCG does. Right now only cards with an "F", "G" or "H" are play-legal. Unlimited format events let you play with whatever you have, however.
Also, keep in mind, as of April 4th only "G" and "H" cards will be legal, as F-cards are being rotated out.0 -
Like in the old game and irl, this game also has the Standard format rotation, so every year many cards rotate out of the Standard format meaning you can't play those rotated cards anymore in Standard.
You can still play most of the avaiable cards in other formats like Expanded (have in mind this format isn't fully supported yet).

wait so if they rotate does that mean that some of my old cards will rotate back into standard or does that mean that only the newest cards will be available

I'm not sure why it's called a rotation since it only rotates out, never back in. Unfortunately, they will never be standard again, you can only play them in expanded. :( As a collector online and IRL, this has always been one of my least favorite aspects of the TCG. I get attached to certain cards, lol.
