I have a theory about the reason there's a new battle style in Z-A.
In Arceus, we got a new catching style, right?
Now in Z-A, we get a new battling style, and it uses the catching style of Arceus.
The legends games will just change things with every game, but they might not stay in the mainline games.

Scarlet Violet was a failure but Z-A will drastically change the aspect of mainline games. In short, Legends Z-A gameplay concept is here to stay.
