So I was wondering how many episodes are in this anime series? I already notice that Pokemon Horizons is already nearing its end.

87 releases in Japan on Friday, and that’s basically the climax’s beginning.

I’m both excited and terrified at the same time.

@TheCrazyChespin Actually 88 and counting in Japan. You should be terrified because Pokemon Horizons already become short-lived.

It may be short, but it was GOOD.

If Pokemon Horizons were to go longer, best to sever ties with Liko completely.

Any particular reason why? I love that little crew of protagonists. They’ve really come a long way, and I’m honestly so proud.

Severing ties with Liko would be a bad idea in my mind unless they intend to do this from here on out each generation. Continuity, at least with the primary protagonist, has been a fixture in the Anime since its inception. Ash gave us a glorious 25 seasons/years and his time in the spotlight is now over. Liko, a female protagonist, is now the face of the Anime along with Roy and other characters. I think it would be in the Anime's best interest to keep Liko, Roy and Dot going into future Seasons. I haven't watched the Gen 9 Anime yet(been meaning to but I just haven't buckled down to watch it yet) but given we're at 88 Episodes, I'd expect to get another Season and 50+ Episodes before we move into another "Generation".

Just some Episodes by Generation info. Note: Not all of these Episodes aired in English

Generation 1: 2 seasons, 118 Episodes(includes Orange Islands and banned episodes)

    Generation 2: 3 seasons, 158 Episodes

Generation 3: 4 seasons, 192 Episodes, includes Battle Frontier + 18 Pokémon Chronicles Episodes

Generation 4: 4 seasons, 191 Episodes +2 Japanese dub episodes; one with Brock(Pewter Gym), other with Dawn

Generation 5: 3 seasons, 142 Episodes + 2 Japanese dub episodes; one with Brock + Cilan and other with Iris + Clair

Generation 6: 3 seasons, 140 Episodes + 4 special arc episodes w/ Alain +1 Japanese dub episode with Cilan + Clemont

    Generation 7: 3 seasons, 146 Episodes

Generation 8: 3 seasons, 147 Episodes(includes Pokémon Master arc) + 4 Episodes(Arceus Chronicles) and a special Episode set in the I Choose You continuity

    Generation 9: 2 seasons, 88 Episodes(86 aired and ongoing)

Given that Generation 1 was probably not planned to be that long(didn't expect Pokemon to take off?), throw that out as an outlier. Meaning the general length of any "Generation" is 140 Episodes(at minimum). Meaning you got another Season of Episodes to go through before we even start hearing snippets of Generation 10. Then again, I could be wrong so… yeah.

It doesn't matter, Pokemon Company's decision is final and Liko's role as protagonist doesn't sit well. Far as I'm concerned, If I want to endorse a female protagonist to be the face of Pokemon. Someone who is truly braver than Liko. She had her chance and blew it. Roy on the other hand along with Dot, they have real potential.

I haven't watched the Gen 9 Anime yet so take what I'm about to say with that in mind but Liko not being brave isn't necessarily a bad thing and actually fits her character as a shy introvert. Not all kids, and even adults, are brave and hence makes her relatable and demonstrates she has flaws that can be used to build upon her character in future Seasons/Generations if they opt to keep her going forward. Plus, Ash wasn't perfect by any means. He was reckless, and if it weren't for his friends like Misty(and plot armor) to bring him back, who knows how long he would have lasted on his journey. Certainly not long enough to become Alolan Champion, much less the number 1 Trainer in the world. Then again, I can't say that without mentioning that Team Rocket should have died numerous times. Damn Kenny of Pokémon those three were.

She’s already grown so much as a trainer.
