do you think that Pokemon mystery dungeon is cannon to the mainline games

I mean in the original pmd rescue team games the main problem that arises is an asteroid is coming to hurt the mystery dungeon world and in the Pokemon ORAS games the meteor is stopped by Rayquaza and Zinnia mentions that she didn't want the asteroid sent to another world so maybe this asteroid in a different reality (original timeline) was sent to another world which is why the main character in pmd has to save the pokemon mystery dungeon world also in gates to infinity after you complete the post game and cause distortions in the timeline the next mainline game takes place in the mega timeline saying that the rifts from gates to infinity caused some major damage to the main timeline (also not to help the distortion created by you from the explorers game since you weren't supposed to exist after you defeated primal dialga and restored the time gears) also there is the possibility the the main timeline could have ended because the bittercold won the battle in reality and a whole world was created which is where super takes place somehow conveninetly having all the characters from past pmd games except the specific partners and main characters replaced by npc Pokemon of the same species saying the timeline the bittercold created was a time line without heroes and catastrophic events

sorry if this is a bit confusing but just give me your thoughts on this

I think it's much simpler to see this as it's own entity. There may be parallels, but none of this indicates any canonicity to the games.

The asteroid crisis pre-existed the one in ORAS. But even if there were interaction between the worlds, you yourself said that the asteroid being sent to another world would have to be a different reality of the main series, which means it's not canon. The reason for the meteor in both cases involves Deoxys, so the Deoxys in PMD need not be the same one as the main series.

The whole "distortions," "timeline damage," etc. requires a lot of mental gymnastics to make sense of, and none of that actually has anything to do with the main series canonically speaking.

Pokémon is a multiverse, so anything is possible, but this also requires specific parameters to be defined for "canonicity." The simplest answer for what is canon is whatever is outright stated. So until links are proven, it's all theory, not canon.

    Possibly.
