Why isn't Pokemon on Bluesky?

Bluesky is a new alternative to Twitter, and it's undergoing a huge popularity boost because of all the social media users who have had enough of X's increasing toxicity under Musk.

I wonder what's taking the Official Pokemon Account so long to join (if it even wants to join at all, that is).

Whatever flaws X/Twitter may have, Bluesky represents everything that made old Twitter bad. It might actually be worse, because it leans even more into that community and is even more puritanical about culling dissenting accounts.

If Bluesky becomes successful, Pokémon and other brands will probably establish a presence on there, if nothing else to reserve the account name and discourage imitators.

There will probably have to be a lot of policy changes and pruning of more unsavoury content before that happens, however.
