I've played hundreds of TCG live matches and have played with friends and family with the cards.
However today I will be attending my first live event.

Is there any* advice you guys have for someone attending their first official event.
are there any social or competitive etiquette you guys suggest ?

and also I have been playing with my online deck which is crazy awesome but I do have to go build a standard deck without having the advantage of having the deck and options I play with online.
I don't like going with the standard known and repetitively seen strategy and like to build my own themed decks so I also would be very appreciative of some build advice.

Hi. Yes, time management it's crucial especially if you are playing a slower deck (move your hands fast lol)... and be as focus as you can, missplays will still happen but you have to minimize them if you want to win.

Ah be polite and no funny gestures...

    Best of luck.

Misplay it's when you make a wrong/bad move (most of the times you will notice it even before your opponent makes the next move).

"Card protectors" aka "card sleeves" are not mandatory but I would highly recommended it, sleeves will protect your cards from usage damage, don’t forget that judges can call you out if you have damaged or marked cards (same goes for sleeves).

About shuffling as long as you don't try to cheat you should be fine... ah and always cut after your opponent shuffle.

Not sure I understood the question, but if your tournament is current standard format, you can only play cards that are valid in current standard format. Sleeves don't matter (regarding witch cards you can play) they just make the cards handle smoother and avoid damaging the cards.

Btw if you are going to use sleeves make sure you get decent ones like "Dragon Shield".

if you’re talking about the pre built Worlds decks with the signatures, those aren’t legal, even with sleeves.
