New Player: Thoughts on Future Updates for Pokemon TCG Live & Pocket?

Hey everyone! New player here, diving into both Pokemon TCG Live and Pokemon TCG Pocket. Really enjoying both for different reasons – Pocket is great for quick, easy battles, while Live lets me access the full selection of cards and experiment more with deck-building.

But I’m curious… do you all think they’ll keep updating TCG Live with improvements to the UI, graphics, and overall experience? It’d be awesome to see it bridge some of the accessibility and visual polish that makes Pocket so user-friendly. And vice versa, do you think they might add a battle pass, or start implementing boosters and additional sets that are more mobile-friendly versions of what’s currently printed? Something streamlined but not too stripped down.

I don't see why wouldn't they keep updating their games... TCG Live just did a visual/functional update, and already said many of times that TCG Pocket devs said they are working on a ranked mode.

I want to see a player chat feature inside of TCG. At the very least I should be able to send inbox messages to any player that is age verified… Or something.

If nothing else players should be able to request rematches. It's rare to fight winning decks that don't follow the established meta. Sometimes I get extra lucky, sometimes extra unlucky, sometimes the same happens to my opponent. Best 2 out of 3 challenge should be an option.

There is no relation between the two apps whatsoever other than both being Pokemon.

That's not true. This is not like comparing Pokémon Sleep to a pair of Pikachu socks or something. The two products are very similar in function, scope and execution.

They both simulate the real life TCG, they both use Pokémon TCG cards and mechanics, even sharing card designs and artworks, they both use the booster pack model to distribute cards, they both have online play.

The two are very comparable and lessons learned in one are very applicable to the other. Being part of the same franchise means that the respective developers should have even more opportunities and incentive to work together.

I hate how you don't really lose rank for losses. They made it way to easy to climb now. Where is the pride in climbing now?

I don't think it should even be called a Ranked Ladder… all a player needs to do is to play a lot even if wins less than 40% eventually will be in the top league or even Arcues.

It is not competitive at all and also makes the Casual mode useless… why would anyone play on Casual now?

There is no difference between ranked and casual now. You can have a deck with one basic and 59 energies and eventually you will get someone who is afk or concedes or glitches out and you will eventually reach arceus😬

yes they are both Card games, other than that its not the same. Pocket is a simplified dumbed down version adn TCG Live is the actual 1:1 card game ie, you can make a standard deck in tcglive and make a real deck irl and play in pokemon events where pocket you cannot. and pockets cards are similiar names but do different

The game is pretty much dead at the point. Devs don't care, don't update without breaking the app. Don't listen to the players. Pocket has already been more successful. Pretty embarrassing from Pokémon Internationals behalf. Id either move over to pocket or look for a much better developed card game such as Magic or Master Duel. Live will just end up getting you stressed with bugs and neglect, and sarcastic members on here giving you nonsense because you complain about it.

without the option of trading, entering different community events, and being able to chat and have a community with other players online, i dont feel like the game is even fully open or what it is intended to be. i agree it has gotten a bit boring after finishing the only event available and finishing most of the deck builds it just turns into monotonous battles of random chance cards. i think there is a lot more potential for this platform though.
