Energy Ramp, Love or Hate?
Kinda curious on how others feel about this (esp after my fourth consecutive match against a mewtwo ex/ gardevoir deck).
Energy ramp is a general term to describe gaining more energy/resources than the normal mechanics allow. This is mostly enabled by Gardevoir, Moltres EX, and Misty (lt surge dosent count because it dosent create new energy).
And because energy is so powerful in this game, the winning strategy is just a race to get your heavy hitters with enough energy to get online before your opponent does.
I think my biggest beef is with Gardevoir, because its too reliable (and it triggers every turn), wheras Moltres is an action and requires a coin flip, misty is a coinflip.
Part of the annoyance as well, is that theres not much reliability in forcing pokemon to be active (for instance if sabrina was a coinflip who decided which pokemon came out)

I think this is a beginners mode issue, I barely play against Mewtwo/Gardevoir decks in TCG mode. Pikachu decks it's what I see more but not in a annoying level…
There are counters for all those 3 decks you mention and those counters I see as much as I see the actual "top 4" decks. I believe since those decks are more complicated to play the beginners just play the easy to play top decks and few players there play counter decks.

moltres too hype. Burned special condition will come soon and new fire cards. I think fire type dominate tcg pocket. After that pokemon company need balance the game so company create new strong card. we use current cards its nothing for future. This game not sustainable. Company need only Digital card collectors so nft. this game unplayable for gamer. Develop teams not calculate everything…

Gardevoir is not reliable. Coin flips aren't the only variance in a card game. Your deck is shuffled and the cards you draw and have access to are random.
It is worth remembering that Gardevoir is a stage 2 evolution. You need to draw all three forms to be able to use its ability, and it takes at least 3 turns to get there.
Pikachu ex is far more consistent. It is a basic Pokémon and only needs two energy and any three electric Pokémon on the bench. And a lot of water decks can win on turn two with a lucky Misty coin flip and an Articuno.
The number of times I have sat on or never even drawn a Ralts, or never drawn the Gardevoir...
You probably remember all the times you got turbo stomped by a Mewtwo with an endless supply of Gardevoir energy, but you also probably disregarded many of the times you won against a deck with no Ralts or Mewtwo. You probably thought "that was easy" and moved on, not consciously registering it as a victory against the Mewtwo/Gardevoir deck.
All that said, we can talk about the ease of ramp and drawing into the combo pieces. These elements can be balanced and tweaked. But just because it can win easily doesn't mean that it's a guaranteed win every game.

Energy ramp is frustrating only when it's turn three Gardevoir or misty turn 1 into misty turn 2. We want to be the good guy who wins. Who has a chance.
Edit: I think it's important to remember that if you play enough games these outcomes WILL happen to you. Just accept it and move on.
