Wish there was a "campaign" mode

I have social anxiety when it comes to PvP games, partially stemming from a fear of losing. But I also don't like making other people feel the sting of losing (blame high empathy). In Online, we had the option of battling increasingly difficult ai opponents and years ago, there was a tcg game for the Gameboy color that was really fun. I found an emulator to play it on my phone and I had a blast!

I just wish there was a way to capture that feel with the current state of the game. It's more like me trying to do better against myself instead of going up against another person.

I mean you can play the AI in test mode but that's about it for a "campaign"…TCG Online was so good compared to this

It's a shame, even TCG Pocket has a small repeateble "campaign" (solo vs AI).

I understand what it's like to have anxiety, but you really shouldn't fret about upsetting other people and try to enjoy the game. You both enter the game on the understanding that one of you will win and one will lose. It's not the end of the world.

Do you have friends you can play with who might help acclimatise you to playing against a real opponent.

That said, I agree there should be better single player options. Thry should make a new game, like the Game Boy games.
