This is the same company that A. everyone thought was ending, and B. had to release it's own games on other consoles.

Nintendo have their own issues, but it feels like Sony and Microsoft have been actively sabotaging their own businesses.

Of course, both companies have other divisions that can support their gaming divisions and cushion the losses from a decade of missteps. Nintendo has strong brands and merchandising, but their sole focus is gaming. I guess those priorities are reflected in their products.

It can only mean Pocketpair's days are numbered and it's also outnumbered 2 to 1.

I dunno, poketpair might just have the type advantage. The Nintendo patents came out after Palworld did.

I recall seeing a Fakémon game that was about to release on the AppStore but probably got sued for copyright/patent rights… hope the creators get over the loss 😭

The scummy thing is that these patents were filed after Palworld launched.

And again, there is no reason you should support these lawsuits unless you have stock in Nintendo. And even then, that would make you incredibly selfish.

Other companies being afraid to use ideas and mechanics that have appeared in Nintendo games on the off chance Nintendo decide to retroactively patent them and sue is going to make the entire games industry worse. It will limit creativity through iteration and potentially cause developers to not bother making games in the first place.

And the best thing for Pokémon fans and the quality of the series is for it to have healthy competition. Do you really think they will work to make Pokémon better when Nintendo prove they can litigate anything vaguely resembling it out of existence?

They will own the genre uncontested. They can put out any old half-finished, buggy rubbish and that will be your only option.

I will never understand why anyone, Pokefan or otherwise, is on Nintendo's side. Corporations are not your friends. They do not love you.
