Is Pocket any Good?
The title says it all: is Pokémon TCG Pocket any good? Is it fun, or does it just feel like a money grabber?

Yes, as a mobile app it's very well optimized (I haven't found a single bug), cards art is top, battles are simple, fast and fun, you don't need to put money on it to play and have the best decks.
Also with the upcoming announced new features it's only getting better… like Trade, Ranked mode, special events every month, a mini-set in 6 weeks from now and new main sets every 3 months or so.
You only need to invest money if you want all the "cosmetics" like special sleeves, coins, binders, stuf like that… or you want to have cards faster. For instance I've been playing it for about 3 weeks and already got almost every deck, all immersive cards and a golden Pika, this without using any money. Since the next main set only comes in January 30th it's more than enough time to complete the current set playing for free.

Its actually a really good game, and so far its not nearly as p2w as everyone thought it would be (it probably will get that way yet tho, enjoy it while you can)

I like the battles so far. It does remind me a lot of Yugioh Duel Links: a cut down version of the full game.
I know they were targeting a casual and collector market with this one, but I can't help but feel they could please both markets by adding a ranked mode.
It is kind of sad to see certain cosmetics locked behind a hard paywall with no way to earn them in-game. But at least F2P seems viable so far.
That may change going forward, so I will be cautious. But for now it is novel and a bit of fun.

Just download the free game. lol you get two weeks of premium for free as well. It’s a simpler version of the cards game.

I was skeptical when I heard about the micro transactions, but I honestly love it

It's 2 weeks free only after the first time you purchase a premium pass (you won't be charged for the first 14 days), so it's not available for F2P players.
