My first game was violet, Which then moved on to shield. Have not played any other games, just shiny hunting in violet

I was born when they made the second season of the black and white anime, so I don't know anything about the old games

To any younger or newer fans, I strongly recommend playing through the older games if you can. Release order is probably the best idea, so that you can experience the evolution of the series and don't suddenly find yourself stepping back and being deprived of QoL mechanics.

Nintendo might not be very accommodating with their reluctance to make them readily and legally available for purchase, but the older games especially would not need much processing power to run on modern devices.

Not that I am endorsing or encouraging anything. Just food for thought.

Why are there people saying how old they are here. That's extremely dangerous. Please edit your comments into saying "deleted comment" or anything that isn't personal information, or at least remove the parts saying your age.

If that's me you're questioning, about if I played a Pokemon spin-off title, yes that is right. It was about a couple I did before; Link Battle (Trozei) and Pokken Tournament (Switch edition). I really enjoyed the 3DS eShop game Link Battle, that takes place on an unnamed island with no humans involved anywhere, and I caught all Pokemon of Gens 1-6, three times in my life. Really good it was! ^^

…Shame why the 3DS eShop closed down in March 2023 so, it's a bit sad that way. :( I didn't even get a chance to buy Pokemon Picross there, which looked like another interesting spin-off game, revealing pictures of Pokemon in the same manner as Mario's Picross games have did. I also wished there was a sequel to Link Battle, and Pokken too. Would like to see more cool Pokemon face icons and more new battling Pokemon to duke it out in Tekken style! :D
