I am having a lot of difficulty playing mainly because I always seem to draw little to no pokemon most of the time and when I go back and try to swap out other cards for more pokemon, I draw even less pokemon the next time. I mean is my luck really that bad?

How many trainers you have in your deck cause I have 12 pokemon and 35 trainers and 13 energy it works fine

Similar to KingPenguin, I usually run anywhere between 10 - 15 pokemon. Maybe you have too may evolutions that sets off the balance???
TBH: it really comes down to the trainers. You need the right combo of trainers to make it work. Use the test deck feature in the app. My rule is: If I beat the AI without losing any pokemon, I have a decent deck to go live with. Then it comes to how fast can I beat the AI. Hope that helps.
