will I have nastalgia for the forums

I am nostalgic for an earlier era of the internet, before everything became centralised around half a dozen social media sites and normies got iPhones, which enabled them to access spaces their technological illiteracy previously barred them from flooding with their ill-formed opinions.

There are a number of forums and message boards I am nostalgic for that either changed beyond recognition, became Discord servers or simply shut down entirely.

One day the websites and communities you value you will disappear; sometimes they fade gradually as people move on, but sometimes the rug is pulled out from under you without warning.

This forum has its own issues, but it is reminiscent of the older forums we would see in the early 2000s. In that sense, it already invokes nostalgia.

Sadly I fear that it will only take another mass migration from Reddit or Twitter or the likes before TPC decide it isn’t worth the liability and hassle, shutting it down for good.
