Gen 1 bracket semifinals #1

Genuinely a very difficult decision. Both are hugely iconic Pokémon.

One a starter, the first Pokémon many people had, the first Pokémon in the Pokédex, the most competitive final evolution in its own generation (before Charizard was lavished with extra forms and abilities) and Red's canon starter in the Special manga.

The other is the first Mythical Pokémon, inspiration for so many playground rumours, and the one that turned out to be true and let us believe so much other hogwash, crucial figure in the background lore to gen 1, considered to be the first Pokémon ancestor, key player in the first movie and powerful competitive Pokémon in its own right... when it's allowed.

I did hesitate on this one, but it has to be Mew.

Only for the plushies, the nostalgia, and the fact that I play this line in one of my decks
