Shiny starter odds question

Even with Gen 9, I'd rather get the shiny starter hatch the honorable way rather than keep relying on soft resets.

This is the weirdest comment I've ever seen on the forums. The only "wrong way" to get a shiny is through hacking, and even that is subjective. Please do not gatekeep shiny hunting, that's just stupid.

If the odds of getting a shiny starter on the first try is 1/4096 and 24 million copies of Pokemon Scarlet/Violet were sold, that means 5,859 people got shinies on the first try (I think).

If you want to sacrifice Dialga energy(time), who am I to stop you. Just don't lose sanity over that small code difference.
