Which type of Pokémon in the Pokémon Trading Card Game is the most useful to you?
Mine is Colorless because that type of Pokémon doesn't require specific-type Energy to attack.

I would say dark or steel because they are heavy hitters

There are many Pokémon that don't require specific-type energy to attack and are not necessarily normal (colorless) type.
Most useful type... really depends of the game format, the meta and even the decks you prefer to play.
In current Standard I would say in general Radiant Greninja, Bibarel and Manaphy are the most useful, they fit well in many decks making their type the most useful now, so water and normal type.

water always has good energy acceleration, which is why Chien-Pao ex is always in my back pocket, but right now I favor Dragapult ex with Xatu, Radiant Alakazam, and Scoop Up Cyclone

ah Mew ex also handy in multiple decks so I would add psychic type too.
