@UnovanZorua Exhibit A: The protagonists, eyes too wide and realistic. Exhibit B: Geeta. Exhibit C: Poppy. Exhibit D: Rika.

    1. I kinda agree on the protagonist one, the eyes (and nose) felt weird back when the game was announced. But they got much better when the game actually released. Still probably the worst of the character designs in SV, but you can customise your character before you even start the game, and there are more options than ever before.
    2. I think Geeta's design is somewhat messy around her head because her hair is weird, but the design is meant to resemble Glimmora, and the rest of it has colours and design choices meant to make you guess she's a champion or very high ranked, and it works. The amount of black and purple, colours both that both look royal/formal, but yet are shadowy and associated with darkness/evil (Geeta doesn't seem to be a nice person to her workers). I think the only part of her design I dislike is the eye sparkle thing being yellow, and the fact that she just has the two hair things that are the only hairs that are curved while the rest of her hair is straight, when they could just make all her hair curly and remove the random two parts of hair, and she'd look much better with the same effect of the original.
    3. I think Poppy's design looks good, just new and stands out a bit as Pokémon usually doesn't design characters that look like that. But it manages to convey the steel type and her being a child. Which are really all it can convey, as we don't know much about Poppy.
    4. Rika is good. The design is loved by pretty much everyone so it seems that you're one of the few who dislike it. She uses somewhat ground-ish colours in her design, and her design matches her personality pretty well. I really don't know what could make someone dislike it other than it being too simple and not showing she likes ground types well enough.

My money is on Snivy, Piplup, and Scorebunny

@UnovanZorua you forgot about Geeta's huge bushy eyebrows.

sRegarding the starter Pokémon, I imagine it could be Snivy, Litten and Piplup, or who knows, Torchic, Squirtle and Grookey, or the starters could be the same as Kalos, but each one gets their Mega-Evolution
