Gen 10 Should Release On Pokémon's 30th Anniversary
I don't really know what to put here, but I had a great idea and wanted to share. Basically, I think it would be really cool if the Gen 10 games were release on February 27th, 2026. This is because not only is it the 30th anniversary of Pokémon, but also it would be the 10th generation which is a huge milestone, double digits and all that. Hoping someone at The Pokémon Company sees this, would be very cool. Oh, also, this wouldn't prevent a new game in 2025 because of Legends: Z-A, so we wouldn't be completely starved for the year. And, I just thought of another good point, this delayed release would give the Gen 10 games some extra development time and that's always a positive. Ok I think I'm done now, bye and have a good rest of your day.

would be a major improvement if gen 10 games get a lot more extra development time.

We might not know if it'll release in 2026. It all depends on Pokemon Company's decision. If they decide to delay it to 2027 to 2028. That would mean more time to get everything underway to avoid another repeat of Scarlet Violet.

i thaught maybe we have Legends Z-A 2025, Black-Gold and White-Silver in 2026 or something and next gen fall next year or something

@MajorBrendan how many time is there between regions?

@clasingla now it's going to be longer due to the Pokemon company considering more time to create better graphics and such.

@MajorBrendan its most likely that they will release the gen 10 games next year in november based on their release pattern over the last few generations. i can't see it being delayed any further than early 2026 and in all honesty i think my idea of the games releasing on pokemon day 2026 is unlikely.

@ConManJan not likely with the company expanding more time as they're changing the infrastructure for the game development including more time.

As has been discussed multiple times on these forums (and the internet at large) rushing out Pokémon games for a yearly (or even more frequent at times) release schedule has almost certainly been a major contributing factor to the decline in quality of the series over the past decade or so.
If we assume that Z-A releases next year (hopefully late next year to give as much dev time as possible) then that would mean that they would be pushing out a new generation within the same year-long span as another game.
You may recall that BDSP, PLA and SV all released in the space of a year. That didn't work too well.
Ideally I would say release Z-A on the anniversary (maybe put the original games or even gens 1-3 on Switch Online if you really want to make everyone happy). Then release gen 10 in 2027. November 2026 would really be pushing it.
I do suspect that there is another Kanto game in the pipeline somewhere. Either a 3D remake, some kind of mixed 2D-3D remake, a BDSP style game developed by another developer (worst case scenario) or perhaps some kind of classic games collection in lieu of a Switch Online release Nintendo refuse to do for some reason.
Perhaps they are holding it until the next big controversy. Wait until the entire internet is mad at them, then boom! Pokémon on NSO! News cycle focuses on that, fans are distracted, normies never hear about the controversy, news cycle moves on. Cynical, but undoubtedly effective.
Anyway, whatever we say here, I doubt it will have much effect on the development or release schedule of upcoming games. These products are planned out and developed years in advance, even if the release schedule is tightly packed. They are developed in Japan by developers who almost exclusively speak Japanese. And the leadership are boomers.
They will never know what was discussed on a small (if official) English speaking Pokémon board, unless these forums suddenly blew up and attracted Japanese media attention. If some intern passed along a memo summarising our thoughts to the devs that would qualify as a minor miracle.

Which is why the future pokemon gens necessitate more time to work things out.
