I think Nuzleaf is a really great villain. His betrayal was a complete surprise

    Spoilers for explorers of tds!

    Dusknoir. I hate that fight in the Hidden Land, it took me so many tries in my first few playthroughs. And then the scene after it... it's not hard to see how Dusknoir used to be my least favourite mon.

    chatot is the most evil villain because he steals all the money you make and he starves you and he tricks everyone into thinking he's a good guy

    @Flametix

    A very short list of a few things Chatot has done:

    • Starve characters implied to be children or at most early teens because he didn't want to hear why they didn't find apples in a dungeon, and then praised the people who stole and ate all the apples in the guild and dungeon for "finding" an apple.
    • Witness an obvious kidnapping where the kidnapper grabbed the victims in front of a large crowd and dragged them into some kind of time travel hole and say that the kidnapper is innocent and the victims are at fault, or that they must've simply
    • The victims tried to say that the kidnapper was bad after finding a way home, and tried to explain what they found out happens in the future, which he knows they've been to, but Chatot called them liars, insulted them for "trying to dirty the name of the great explorer, spoiler," mocked them, and expected the victims' friends and fellow guild members to join him.
    • These are only the things I can immediately think of. He's done more.

    I didn't finish the last sentence in the second one, I meant "must've simply tripped"

    I think Super Mystery Dungeon is way better than Explorers. My theory for why Explorers gets so much more attention is because it's a sprite based game and that naturally draws people to it

    Personally I think the artwork looks a lot better than SMD. Especially for the Pokémon portraits. Also, Explorers had its own story while SMD seemed to recycle ideas from previous games like the final boss being a manifestation of evil, PLOT TWIST VILLAINS FOR THE THIRD TIME IN A ROW, the character leaving leaving permanently, the Expedition society being VERY similar to the guild in Explorers, and more stuff. You also have to finish half the game to reach the main city, and the recruiting mechanic was not very fun this time.

    It's still one of my favourite games though. It looks and feels comfy, the entire ost is stunning, the story is beatiful despite reusing previous games' tropes, the recruitment methods were annoying but I liked being able to recruit previous characters.

    Kecleon I was about to buy something after selling something he called me a thief and started attacking me wasting majority of my Reviver seeds and me barely escaping (it was on a golden treasure dungeon too) I was only able to escape with the pounce wands I “stole” from him
