What time can I be at NAIC this year? By this I mean I want to be at the convention center at 7 am because this is my first big event.

You should get there an hour or two before the event starts so you can have time to get into the venue, find the playing tables, bathrooms, water fountains, etc.

Usually arriving about an hour-fifteen before games start is good. If it's your first big event and you don't know the directions to the venue all that well you might want to give yourself a bit more time.
