BDSP Graphical changes?

So recently I was looking at the first BDSP trailer and Eshop images and I noticed that the graphics in them are far higher quality (in terms of textures) than they are in the real game.

Example of the texture difference:

Overall it seems strange that they would change the textures to what they are now as I think they look far better in the trailer. If you think you might know why ILCA/TPC might have changed the textures, leave your thoughts in the comments!

Don't know what happened with the bottom text there, hopefully it doesn't impact the post to much.

No, I think the textures were displeasing to the eyes, and everything, like the 3D models for example, feel rushed (the weird arms in the photo and the strange colouring/shading/idk, I may be an artist but I am not a professional artist).

Also, try to only mention official, real Pokémon games on this site. This game doesn't even exist.

Game trailers looking better, or different, in game trailers is nothing new. They have to be made weeks or months beforehand using older builds of the software. Textures, rendering, models, lighting... it's all subject to change.

And it is not unheard of for companies to use better hardware, rendering or even pre-rendered scenes representing gameplay to try and make the game look as good as possible. Even without the intent to deceive, what the developers thought possible when the trailer build was used might prove impossible in the final game.

You may recall that BDSP's art style was controversial at the time the trailer was released. PLA and SV also received heavy scrutiny for their graphical quality, rendering and framerates in trailers.

Many defenders rallied around the "footage not final" message at the bottom of the trailer. Any graphical issues will be gone when the game finally launches, they said. It's not what the real game will look like, we were assured.

Even criticisms of the chibi artstyle were dismissed in this way. It was going to look amazing in the final game. This was just a trailer. You can't judge a game by the promotional footage the developers put out to promote their game.

BDSP's issues go beyond its graphics or its artstyle. It was put in the hands of a third part mobile app developer rather than a games developer. It ported the game as it was, even including the original bugs and glitches, and adding a few new ones. They added a forced exp. share without rebalancing the game around it. They didn't even include the story content Platinum added, preferring to keep the games ports of the original DP instead.

Letting third party developers handle remakes and other spin-offs isn’t inherently a bad idea. If GF really can't do it themselves. There are some great second and third party developers with ties to Nintendo that could probably make something amazing, given adequate time, resources and license to remake the game rather than lazily port it with a new skin.

But ILCA and the way BDSP were handled were definitely the wrong choices.

honestly if feel like if they just added new Dynamax forms that could have definitely changed the games reception imaging gigantimax luxray or gigantimax empoleon I feel that probably would have been a remake that can at least pass off as more than just a port
