    My theory is that mod accounts are either entirely or partially bot controlled, or that they are kept on a very strict script and allowed limited interactions.

    Understandable when you have adult moderators potentially communicating with minors on a family-friendly official forum. But sometimes I do want to communicate directly with mods regarding certain topics and it is frustrating that they are so distant and robotic.
