It was probably some troll like Zhula. Hey, where did he go? We haven't gotten any "EVERY SINGLE META DECK IS CRINGE" posts in a while.

The use of the Disagree button may be legitimate, as everyone has a right to disagree with you, but hitting every post does suggest abuse or malice.

Also a simple Disagree does not really tell you much. You don't know why they disagree. A response post is much more useful, but I think many would rather click a perceived "your opinion bad" button and move on.

The Flag button tends to work as a simple "I don't like this person", either for something they said in the thread, something they said elsewhere or simple malice once again.

The mods do not seem to act upon flags, or let you know when and if they do. There is no punishment for erroneously or maliciously flagging a post, or if there is I haven't seen it enforced, so for most people it is the equivalent of a Reddit downvote or the dislike button on YouTube.

And that is why I do not like karma systems, forum ranks and likes and dislikes.

Your posts should stand on their own merits. The quality of its content and your contribution to the discussion. Not how many Brownie points you have and how many people agree with you.

If someone sees a post with lots of dislikes, downvotes, flags, etc., they will already have a predisposed notion that the content is bad and unpopular before they even read it.

The contributions of the new user with a single post shouldn't be disregarded just because they are new and someone shouldn't be shouted down and downvoted out of a conversation because they don't hold the popular opinion.

At least here Disagrees and Flags don't derank or hide your post, and forum points and ranks don't really mean anything.

But I still think they should be removed. They are the tools of social media algorithms and engagement farmers, not useful enablers of discussion.
