Gyarados evolution bug

There's a bug that happened to me twice now where gyarados doesn't get the attack speed, attack and hp bonuses upon evolving. It'll stay like that until the end of the game; dying doesn't fix it.

It's obviously really bad when it happens because I'm only able to attack like once per 2 seconds and I'm doing less damage.

    This bug finally happened to me again, twice. I think it happens when you try to basic attack as you're evolving.

    When the bug happens you also don't have a basic attack gauge.
