Brock and Misty No Longer Able to Mega Evolve Steelix and Gyarados, Respectively? Why?

Hi, I'm just wanting to know why you think that Brock and Misty decided that they would no longer be able to Mega Evolve their Steelix and Gyarados, respectively, as of the Journeys anime series?

No one knows why but I do know that once I work for said company, I plan to have their ability to mega evolve returning as well.
