are japanese pokemon rare?
i traded a v star (i think) for a japanese pokemon card in school, also no im not selling it.
also i couldnt find a category for pokemon cards so i chose a random one

No, virtually all of them are Japanese here. You do occasionally see English or other foreign language ones imported in shops, but they are not legal to play because the language (obviously) and card back are different.
Around the rest of the world they are rarer, but again, not legal to play.
Depending on the local meta or popularity of a Pokémon or character, some Japanese versions can be more or less valuable than their international counterparts. For example, some of the full art trainer cards can be hundreds of thousands of yen in Japanese, but only a few dollars in English.
