How often do you try to shiny hunt
I often do it in legends arceus and violet I tried hatching one in sword and shield but failed I am hopeless in shiny hunting in let’s go & shining pearl to so I shiny hunt pretty often

I'm shiny hunting Rowlet in the original SM, and Ho-oh in HG right now. I tend to shiny hunt with soft resets while watching YT (and I will never actually do and finish an Egg shiny hunt. Those require too much time and attention).
Some of the cooler ones I've gotten (all through shiny hunting, not random unfortunately):
Shiny Giratina in Platinum, shiny Pheromosa in like not even 15 minutes in USUM, shiny Totodile in HGSS (it shows in the overworld btw), and a shiny Turtwig in the (fake) DP remakes (in Japanese, also it was annoying because soft resetting on a Switch takes so long) (also I haven't opened the game since the day I found it. I don't want to actually play that thing).

I did not even know shinies were a thing until gen 4, having not seen one in gens 2 or 3, when a shiny Cindaquil hatched from an egg I bred from my starter in HGSS. I had to look it up.
I don't particularly care for them or go out of my way to catch them. If I happen across one I will toss a ball at it, but that has only happened a handful of times in my entire Pokémon career.
It's nice that other people like them though. I am glad they can enjoy it.
