You might as well just post what you wanted to say in this thread.

To answer the topic, on the face of it, I say no. There should only be one version. The only reason Pokémon gets away with it is because it is what it has always done.

If they want to encourage trading, randomise the pool of catchable Pokémon at the start of the game. Have some that appear in every game, some that can be absent. You would have to find another player with the missing Pokémon you need.

@TheJeffers I do think that there should only be one version of each game, but if catchable Pokemon are randomized, completing the Pokedex will be hard because you don't know which Pokemon you can't catch.

PLEASE LET THERE BE ONE VERSION!!! I hate having to trade with my friends for hours, and then sometimes we have the same version, and it's all because I want the stinking shiny charm to shiny hunt with.

@clasingla Why would that be good? Why is having to buy the same game twice good for anyone but Nintendo and TPC?

Unless you are suggesting that enough is added to make the second version a completely different game.

But isn't the problem that Gamefreak don't have time to develop one game properly? Why would making two improve the situation?

It doesn't have to be the whole roster, just a subset. It would also bring back some of the mystery to the game, rather than it being leaked and datamined weeks or months before, and variety to each playthrough.

Or just scrap the concept altogether. Trading is largely redundant with the GTS. Legends Arceus didn't have exclusives.
