Diancie on the official Pokémon website Pokédex says it has a known gender. But, its gender is not actually known.

From the movie it is pretty obvious that it is female.

It is also one of the only Pokemon that people can understand.

No one here is asking the important question:
Why and how would a rock have gender?

It is Pokémon… where a Pokémon was lab made like mewtwo or Celebi
who looks like a vegetable can go back in time. Pokemon is wacky ok!? So a rock in the Pokémon universe can have a gender! And IRL Almost anything living will have a gender!

It's a rock. Speaking of the time travel plant and the human cat, they don't have one either. And even if it had one, there are things in the real world like a lot of plants where it isn't really capable of being classified as male or female.
And also, it's a mythical. I doubt it needs to work the same way as humans and mammals when it comes to that (especially since mythicals and legendaries can't really breed and barely have any use for it).

not everything makes sense in a FICTIONAL UNIVERSE. Pokémon is a FICTIONAL UNIVERSE where anything can happen. Also having a Pokémon as a god in a universe aka arceus. So almost anything can happen if arceus wanted to. Also there are Pokémon like zoura that can transform into a human of either gender. And guess WHAT? Zoura is a MYTHICAL THAT IN YOUR MIND CAN NOT HAVE A GENDER.

No? What Zorua turns into doesn't change what it is. Also, Arceus is not a Pokémon, though it can become one if it wants to (as PLA implies).
We're talking about mythicals. It's not really the lack of a gender that makes a Pokémon a mythical, but being a mythical means it has no gender.
And I've never heard someone complain about Magnemite having no gender, why does Diancie need one? Game Freak decides this stuff so who cares.
