I confess that for me, Pokémon is super special, Pokémon brought me many good moments and brought me a lot of joy, I confess that I love remembering Pokémon and being able to enjoy a lot of things that Pokémon offers, such as games, animations, TCGs and the most special franchise, the Pokémon we meet, I can't imagine my life without Pokémon, because for me, Pokémon is very special

Too much. I used to use obsession to refer to how much I loved it, but sometimes I still wonder if that word is enough.

But it probably taught me more life lessons (and English ones because it's not my first language) than anything in real life. I wouldn't be the person I am now if it weren't for it.

I have every mainline game from the DS to Switch, and I will always love this franchise. Even when it lacks in world and quality, it makes up for it with amazing characters and stories. ...I still hope they make better regions and cities/towns next time because Paldea was an awful experience. Please give us amazing towns and natural looking regions like back in Kalos. Please. At least take enough time to make the games work or look good.

And also it's part of the reason I started drawing art and stayed interested until I learnt how to draw humans and bodies. Art may be painful but I want to be able to make great fanart, and design characters like in the games and anime.

At one time it was very special to me. I got into it during Pokémania, when the world went crazy for Pokémon. I loved the anime, I couldn't wait to get Pokémon Red and I enthusiastically bought all the Pokémon cards I could with what little money I had as a primary schooler. Pokémon when it first launched was absolutely magical to me. Everything in my life had to be Pokémon themed.

By the time Gold and Silver came out the hype had died down a little. I bought Silver and loved it, a few of my friends also picked it up. Interest had started to wane in my friend group, both due to the ending of Pokémania and our progression to secondary school.

By the time Ruby and Sapphire came out I was pretty much over Pokémon. No one else I knew played it. I didn't get it at launch and didn't enjoy it when I did. I dropped out of the series for a few years until Diamond and Pearl. Which was fine.

Heart Gold and Soul Silver were utterly fantastic for me. Not only were they remakes of my favourite games at the time, they were so rich in content and reached a quality I wish Pokémon games could rival today.

Gen 5 I was skeptical of at first, but fell in love with it as my new favourite generation.

Since gen 6 and the introduction of 3D games my interest has waxed and waned, but the general trend was a decline.

I grew more frustrated with the dated design practices, poor optimisation, lack of quality and general apparent laziness that seems to permeate modern Pokémon games. I think it is primarily due to lack of development time and resources granted by whoever is in charge of these decisions to the developers.

There is still a lot of potential there for Pokémon games to be the series I loved, but in its current form I must reluctantly concede that the games are not up to snuff. I do hope that changes in the future.
