You broke the app on DeGoogled Phones.

The most recent update makes it impossible to run the app without Google Play services, which is not installed on any of my family's phones. Please give us a sideloaded APK option at a minimum.

    I didn't see any reference about requiring Google services in the last update, so it might be a bug... anyway if it's intentional I highly doubt they will officially release the game APKs just like that.

    yeah they heavily integrated with Google play so you get an error on devices with the latest update on startup, but just yesterday it worked on every device. And there's no reason I can see to do this integration. You can't sign in with Google only Nintendo. Reverse it please.
