Hi there. I'm finding it very difficult to play a ranked match and I always wait a long time for players to come join and no one comes so I always have to cancel it. For solo matches, I finding a little unfair that we get a limited amount of Pokémon to choose from when I'm sure lots of players have a lot of Pokémon and I'm sure they want to use them too and not just the same one.

Ranked matches, actually every type of match, for me never equal the estimated wait time. I always wait longer.
Do you have any friends in your lobby with you when you go for ranked? I've noticed that might slow things down.
My average wait time for ranked is between 1 min 30 sec to around 2 min 30 sec. Of course, during high trainer volume times, (during daily resets, weekends etc) it can be as short as 30 seconds. Whereas on slow traffic times it can be so long (over 3min) that I stop and restart it else I'll get sent to an overseas server and have bad lag issues.
It may be the time of day you play and which servers you bounce off of/play via.

Yes... the matchmaking can be super slow, but you will get matched eventually... no need to quit.
Also, yes the license journey is unfair and annoyingly slow... especially for new or casual f2p players.
