Pokémon Masters EX has an amazing story
I don't think I've ever been as excited in a mainline game as I have been for Masters EX. Seriously, the original characters and plot are just amazing.
Yes, I'm having a bit of trouble explaining it, but the original characters are just so likeable for some reason, and the music is just perfect (usually), and the story never gets boring.
(unless you're rewatching the normal Villain Arcs on a new account and have to finish a fight every 10 seconds, but the PML Arc and the Paulo interlude are good)

I haven't watched all the villain arcs from Kalos onward (save for Galar), but what I have seen is pretty good.
I like that they manage to give another chance to villains who might have suffered from bad writing before- mainly Chairman Rose.
And they don't even write Maxie and Archie as bad guys necessarily- they see reason and become good, almost acknowledging that they were following what they thought was best, but in a misguided way, and could see reason.

It is very fun and nice to see characters from across the various games engage and chat.
