Are Move Proc Chances Working Correctly?

I’ve been playing Pokémon Champions with Volcarona, and I’ve noticed something that feels seriously inconsistent with how Fiery Dance is supposed to work. The move has a 50% chance to boost Volcarona’s Special Attack, but I’ve noticed that the boost either barely procs or sometimes doesn’t seem to proc at all.

I’ve dealt with this for a while, but my final straw was a match where I used Fiery Dance five times in a row and didn’t get a single boost. I understand that a 50% chance doesn’t guarantee a boost every time, so I know bad RNG is possible. However, what made it feel especially suspicious was that my opponent had a Ditto copy my Volcarona, and when Ditto used Fiery Dance, it procced all three times they used it.

So, in the same battle, I used Fiery Dance five times with supposedly a 50% chance to activate the boost and got 0 procs, while Ditto copied me and got 3 out of 3. I’m not saying this automatically proves there’s a bug, because RNG can obviously be weird, but combined with how often I’ve noticed the boost failing over multiple games, it makes me wonder if there’s some kind of issue with the proc chance or how the game is calculating the secondary effect.

At this point, I’d really like to know if anyone else playing Pokémon Champions has noticed the same thing with Fiery Dance. Because going 0/5 while watching a Ditto go 3/3 immediately afterward was honestly the moment I started questioning whether this is actually just bad luck.

This happens to me with multiple different pokemon but let someone use dark pulse and Im flinched first try…weird

Wouldn't it be your bad luck by definition if your opponent uses the same move but gets the effect?
