Every gamer has that one level or boss that they just couldn't get past. What gave you the hardest time, and what finally helped you beat it? Whether it was changing your strategy, leveling up, or just refusing to give up, we'd love to hear the story!

I genuinely don't know which is harder
Volo or Cynthia
They both made me rage quit a game for multiple months, but I beat Volo with a normal leveled team eventually
I had to max out the levels of my SP team to beat Cynthia
But Volo is genuinely hard because of his Giratina...
It's one of them two
I survived Volo by memorizing his team, finding patterns in his attacks, and using Pokémon that are most efficient against his Pokémon
My final team was my first Pokémon Hisuian Decidueye, Hisuian Samurott, Garchomp, Lucario, Hisuian Zoroark, and Glaceon
It was Garchomp and HZ that pulled off the win because I managed to not use Garchomp all the way until the end so it was still full health
I beat Cynthia by getting almost all my Pokémon to level 100 in SV/SwSh

TMNT 2 on NES when I was like 4 or 5(been awhile). Arcade game was later modelled after it but with notable differences. In any case that game was not easy for a kid who didn't know what they were doing half the time on games that had zero hand holding. I eventually beat the final boss by sheer perseverance and jump attack but never beat the game again. Another one was the NES Star Wars, only this one I never beat because again I was young.
I'm trying to do Shredders Revenge challenges and I can't for the life of me do the zero damage ones. There's a total of four and I've gotten two of them but level 8 and then infamous level 16(final level) are what I have left. I came close on both but the boss on 8 is unpredictable and seems to catch me off guard while 16 I got to half HP on the last part only to run into a wall that I haven't figured out and that is if I get that far with the first boss ugh. Doesn't matter what character I pick either.
I also have Arcade challenges left but I'll get those eventually when I do Multiplayer.

Definitely Volo from PLA. I was ~8 levels over him and I still barely made it through, and now you guys need to deal with my trauma rant:
Spiritomb's only weakness is Fairy, but you need to save your Fairy types for Giratina,
and Roserade would come in next and Sludge Bomb your Spiritomb counter to oblivion, and switching is pointless because Roserade is too fast for you to get two turns and your switch will eat a Sludge Bomb.
If you try to counter Roserade, H-Arcanine is next to make you miserable. Those Rock Slides are super annoying, especially since Fire and Flying are the best ways to take down the Roserade before.
The second half of the team isn't nearly as bad type-wise, but still hard.
Togekiss is most likely to switch in after Arcanine, and you may be tempted to keep your weakened Arcanine counter in, but that gives Togekiss time to set up Calm Mind (which is essentially and omniboost in PLA) and those neutral Moonblasts feel like you're playing against Xerneas. If you try to use Steel, Electric, Poison, Rock, or Ice-type moves to take down Togekiss..
The Garchomp game begins. By now, depending on who you have battling, Volo sends out either Garchomp or Lucario next. In this case, it would likely be Garchomp.
That stupid shark is again likely moving first with respectable 102 base speed and because it switches in after Togekiss' death. All 5 of the types listed a few lines above, Garchomp can hit super effective damage on. Ice? Rock Slide. Literally the other FOUR TYPES that hit Togekiss for more than .00001% HP? Stomping Tantrum. Dragon? Also Dragon, and Garchomp is the fastest Dragon type in PLA.
If you somehow survive to land an Ice Beam, Lucario is always there to make your life miserable. This is the only one that's somewhat easy to take down, unless an Ice or Fairy type is on the field.
However, after that grueling showdown, time for ROUND 7 - Giratina.
The first Giratina is especially hard because its always obsuring itself with Shadow Force and its just an overall bulky pokemon you're almost never OHKO'ing.
After dealing with that, Origin Forme Giratina is next. This forme moves 20 base points from its defenses to its offenses, making it hit harder survive less. However, this "disadvantage" isn't even that bad since you need like 3 turns to revive your beat up team. Afterwards, your attacks start missing because Shadow Force obscured it yet again.
And with that, I rest my case.
