Pokemon Horizons

I have just finished the second season of Pokemon Horizons and honestly i don't like it, but it's just my opinion; This is what i don't like about the show:

-It's kinda slow, a lot of episodes are filler, not in an exagerate number but enough to slow a bit down the story, and that is not necessarly a bad thing, maybe it's better than being rushed.

-i feel like pokemons are being sidelined, i do not know how to explain it better, it feels like they are not really the center of the story alongside their trainers; a LOT of pokemons are underused, especially the trio's second pokemons (sometimes i even forget they exist); and i expected Dot to have more pokemons since she is really passionate about them.

-for now Liko doesn't feel like a proper protagonist, what makes a protagonist a proper one is their personal goals and she does not seem to have one (or maybe she does and i judged her character too soon without looking deep enough); the situation she ends up in uses her as a helper to reach its goal; yeah she wanted to help Terapagos reach Laqua but it doesn't feel like a strong, personal goal; also because she does and after that, what comes next? (yeah, i gotta watch season 3); also her character as a whole feels a bit too bland, she DOES have potential but her depth and growth are almost non-existent, yes she got a bit more brave but i feel like she could be so much more.

I really like Dot (i relate to her to an exent) and i liked how she grew, she came out of her shell and began to appreciate trying new things with the help of her friends.

As for Roy i don't really know what to say about him, the only thing i could say about him is "the kid obsessed with a shiny legendary." he does not impress me. I guess i could say pretty much the same things i said about Liko.

-they also don't train their pokemons enough so from my point of view they do bot give vibes of strong trainers since their training consists in the 3-4 battles against eachother and the fights against the villains.

-I belive that the main characters are surrounded by too many adults, from a kid's point of view i would really like too see kids being more free to explore with adults still being reference points but not surrounding them, since cartoons are for escaping reality for a bit. At one point they kinda forget that Liko and Roy have to follow their lessons (another thing i quite not like because i don't want to go home from school and then be reminded that school exists, and i am the first one to sustain that education is EXTREMELY important, but it's still super important to have fun, and people can still learn from experiences they make in their lives.

And yes i watched Sun and Moon but from my point of view that was such a fun way to integrate school in the pokemon anime without making it too school-ey.) and then at the end of the season they send Liko back to school as if Spinel didn't become the new, more dangerous villain.

-Spinel is the only villain i really like because he kinda reminds me of Volo who sees pokemon mostly as instruments to use to reach glory.

The other villains don't seem to have that much of character for now, i hoped to see that at least in 2 seasons each one of them would have explained why they were like that but of course they did not.
