Why am I unable to update the Windows version of Pokemon TCG Live?
I was logging in to play the game because I wanted to test out an IRL deck I made in the game when I opened the game. It told me there was an update so I clicked on "Update Now" as it seemed like it was going to update the game. Instead it opened my browser to the Pokemon TCG Live website page. At first I thought that updates were being handled differently than what I had previously been doing but no. Now I have no idea what's going on. Can anyone help me out please?

You need to download the program from the Live website & install it. You should not have to uninstall Live first.

I completely uninstalled the game with the installer and got a new installer from the website and it finally worked.

do you lose you progress when you have to do that

I completely uninstalled the game with the installer and got the installer from the website and it did not work
Restarted my whole laptop, still didn't work. Starting to think it's just because I'm trying to use an older laptop despite meeting system requirements.
