Why my pokemon are not rested after sleep session with pokemon sleep?

I played the beta and I had no issue with my pokemon resting after a night of sleeping, however, after the normal release my pokemon are always tired (0% energy) even if I take 9 hours of sleep.
am I missing something about how to recharge my team's energy?
