Interesting idea on Hunger Switch. That one really stumped me so I just threw something together. Giving bonus Armor score on Kabuto is also insanely good(could have it scale by Tier so +4 at Tier 4 would be crazy). Could even add in the choice of evolution if you really like your ancestry perk because the perk ought to change if you Evolve(it would for me id think).

It pulls a lot from DnD. Evasion is equivalent to DnD Armor score, D20 replaced with 2D12(GM or DM still uses D20) but there is no initiative. Instead, actions from the players are typically with one person taking the spotlight/lead, although others can pitch in with Helping an Ally, Tag Team and other means. Depending on the roll outcome will determine if the spotlight shifts to the GM or stays with the players. There's probably other differences but I can't think of them right now.

Granted we just started so what I'm saying will likely change in the coming months as our campaign unfolds.

Let's see if I can translate... Evasion is a number that the Game Master or Dungeon Master rolls against when trying to inflict harm against the players. The GM rolls a D20(20 sided dice) and if they roll a value that meets or beats(aka greater than or equal to) their Evasion, then they succeeded in landing a hit. Armor Score in DnD is treated in the same manner.

Combat in DnD is turn based. Players make Initiative rolls to determine the order in which they act(aka who goes first, second, third and so on).

Daggerheart doesn't do that but is based purely on the outcome of Duality Dice rolls. Instead of having turns, it's based on spotlight or who gets to control the narrative. If the players roll with Hope, they can keep controlling the narrative but if they roll with Fear, the GM can grab the story reigns and introduce new obstacles or launch attacks on the players before yielding control back to the players where their Duality rolls determine their fate.

In other words, players are proactive and have a direct impact on the story while with DnD the onus is on the Dungeon Master and players react to his choices. Not saying players can't make their own actions in DnD but I feel that's the difference between the two TTRPG's.

It's not for everyone and not everyone even understands it the first time they play. Whole point is to have fun, which I think everyone does but I can't speak for others.

I love how whenever I get a notification of you making a comment it is just a full length essay on whatever you were asked. XD

If you knew me personally, you'll know how ironic that is. I was a terrible writer in high school and college but if it's on a topic that interests me(something that is rarely the case in Education) then it just flows, coherence going out the window.
