Should Tyranitar have been a Ground/Dark Type, or is it's original typing already good?
My friend and I have been discussing this topic quite a bit, and want to hear what others have to say.

Existing typing is perfectly adequate. While it does have x4 Fighting, Fighting wasn't the strongest Type back then when Tyranitar came into existence. Tyranitar's signature ability was Sand Stream before it even came into existence and Sandstorm is a Rock type move, not Ground. It boosts the Special Defense of Rock Types, thereby making its existing typing better than if it were a Ground type.

Its design looks like part Ground, but I think it's better as a Rock type (for the same reasons @Lonestar85 has stated)

We already had enough Rock/Ground types by the time Tyranitar rolled around. Enough said.
