Pokemon Mystery dungeon fans are almost as annoying and hypocritical as Mario fans

No, because first of all that was six years ago
Pokemon should have already made a follow up
But secondly a remake is completely different than a new game
It's not even close to the same
There needs to be new stories, characters, and adventures
While yes it is nice that it got the remake the series deserves something new and fresh
And what Cal said was definitely not whining

Before downloadable content was a thing it was not uncommon for game devs to rerelease games to include fixes, enhancements, and bonus content they couldn't do in the past. Some examples off the top of my head are Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance, Persona 3 FES, and Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition. Some games didn't really need the rerelease, some games just wanted to include bonus content, and some games needed it bad. With how Pokemon is it doesn't surprise me they followed the trend.

I would rather they just take the ideas from the DLC or third entry and make it into a new game, or include it in the base game.

It’s not like it chopped of content,
And marking a new game with it is much worse, because its not just one play-through with some extra later, it’s a wholly different game, and also you would waste more money to buy a whole new full price game
