I think that having tournaments is a great idea, since the ladder can go really slowly, and in a tournament you still get rewards even if you didn't win. In the ladder, you only get rewards if you complete a league or the ladder. That's alright, but not super motivating. People might want to battle more if they get rewards whether they did win or not. I know you still get stuff for losing, but the only really good thing is the things that level you up in the battle rewards ladder/battle pass (the one with the tiers.)

I am in favour of the idea of tournaments but I see the current state of the game and know that it’s fresh out of beta. My hope is when all these bugs are squashed and Pokémon company has things more down pat, that it’s only a matter of time for ideas such as tournaments to be added back in. I can’t imagine a downgrade from PTCGO. I know right now things look bleak and I’m not thrilled about current state of the game either, but I am hopeful we get the features in an even better way than PTCGO delivered. L

Very good point and idea. I’m hoping they listen to the fans ideas and feedback from the beta. This game has too much potential to fail

Would definitely make it much more fun to have tournaments. It would be cool to have a tournament reward currency that could be redeemed for alternate versions of cards or something like that. Alternates could still be pulled from packs, but maybe credits could only be redeemed for the regular version, but not alternates. It would add a nice rarity aspect to them but not limit the card to not be able to be played if you don't play tournaments.
