I actually got into pokemon in the games, my mother had a Game Boy Color that was passed down 2 generations, and had a copy of Crystal. Then that same summer, I found a deck in a shoebox that belonged to my friend who wanted me to keep it. I stuck to the franchise ever since.

I got into pokemon in preschool to elementary school age through the cards around mid to late 2010s, some kids at school were playing it (not correctly like most kids). my dad and mom bought some for me and taught me how to play the actual version. my first pokemon card was alonlan ratata.

My cousin had some cards back at the middle of the end of XY era. (My fav era). He played with his dad sometimes, so I started collecting. I recently started playing about a year ago, and went to an event for the first time in February. I still have the cards I asked for from bdays and Christmases past. Well, there you go my story.

my mother bought some large-ish plastic pokemon from a charity shop. jigglypuff, pikachu, and togepi, if i remember correctly. i remember that i covered them in stickers and that the pikachu’s tail broke.
after that, it was opening pokemon cards in the middle of summer in my garden, throwing away all of the trainer cards. i still have most of my cards from back then.

I think it was around 2013, I was on a playground and I found some old chewed up Pokémon cards on the ground, for some reason I took them home and my cousin gave me some more of his and I guess I have been a fan ever since! Although I do remember before this, I saw the Black & White anime on TV a handful of times. Eventually I got my own 2DS and started to play the gen 6 games as well, which was definitely a big part of me becoming such a big fan.
I remember those chewed up cards I found included a Ponyta and a Roselia, I think there might have been one or two others but I don’t remember what they were…

I got into Pokémon 9 years ago when my cousin showed me his Pokémon card binder.
