New item: Raises Defense but prevents the use of moves that aren't the same type as the Pokémon.
Everyone loves Assault Vest, but it's a regret that their are no items to raise the defense for a fully evolved in the competitive scene. A counterpart for the Assault Vest, would be boring. So I thought: why not an item that raises the defense as much as the Assault Vest. However it will have another drawback. When you give this item to a Pokémon it can only use moves of it's own type. So a normal type like Snorlex can only use normal type moves. A Pokémon like Gardevoir can only use Psychic and Fairy moves.
So for the extra defense, you need to give up on coverage and protect. I'm certain this new item would be loved in the competitive scene and would be a nice addition for Pokémon Champions.
I forget to give it a name. Let's call it the Assault Pants…
I know, I'm really bad with names. But what do you think about such item, with these effects?

I think this could be a very useful if not broken item. Does it include terra types?

It will not include Terra types, because otherwise it can only use moves of it's terra type.
I don't think it's that broken. Those Pokémon will lose acces to coverage and a big pool of support moves is also lost. Alakazam can't use protect or recover anymore while holding this item. The Pokémon that will get some advantage out of it, is Gallade (it can learn detect.)
